An attempt to interpret identity in therapy through speech

Publication at Faculty of Arts |

Abstract

The state deals with the problem of identity and its creation through speech. It is a narrative in external and internal speech that shapes an individual's self-concept.

The author also points to the fact that narrative identity is not only used to answer the question: who am I, but also serves as protection from the world. Narrations used to clarify one's own existence have a huge influence not only on psychotherapy, but on the process of upbringing and education.
