Abstract
Archaeological sources confirm the existence of the medieval town of Ústí nad Orlicí from the end of the 13th centrury or the biginning of the 14th century. Surprisingly, the finds are not concentrated around the central sqaure but in the area north of the square and east of the baroque church acupying the site of its medieval predecessor.
