Abstract
The publication traces the development of Czech translation at various stages in the history of Czech literature. The first volume contains a detailed study of the history of Czech translation from the Middle Ages to 1945.
The second volume presents a selection of original essays and reflections by a number of important Czech translators - from the 16th century to the end of the Second World War.
