Abstract
The article deals with the issue of new elections to municipal councils in the Czech Republic. The article contains the current legislative definition of new elections to municipal councils and its development in the Czech environment since 1990.
The article also deals with the total number of new elections to municipal councils between 1992 and 2022. The article also focuses on the comment of the Regional Court in České Budějovice in the area of "purposeful resignations".
The end of the article contains the planned legislative change, which contains the area of electoral systems and the area of new elections to municipal councils, too.
