Abstract

Topic of this book is the essence of Christianity and Christian freedom in a specific concept of Hussite theology of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. This concept expresses it as freedom of conscience in the Spirit of Christ.

It is a concept that is central to the mentioned above theological tradition, lasting from its origin up to today at the forefront of doctrinal and legal documents. It is also a lasting intention present in its theological thinking.

Therefore, this work aims to seek the essence of this concept and its significance in the works of two of the most important theologians of Hussite theology, namely Karel Farský and Zdeněk Trtík, taking into account their sources of inspiration such as Jan Hus, George Tyrrell, and Emil Brunner. The publication seeks to look for permanent and also variable features in their development with respect to their possible future direction.

According to the above mentioned authors, the work is divided into three main chapters: the insights that looks at specific topics, compare the concepts of different authors or developement of the concepts of one author through time.
