The publication deals with prevocational rehabilitation in a comprehensive and clear way, which determines an individual's general abilities to work and is an important part of rehabilitation in health care. The individual chapters will gradually acquaint the reader with the development of the concept of prevocational rehabilitation methodology, with the legislative bases on which the system of prevocational centers operates.
The text further acquaints the reader with the principles of prevocational examination, with the involvement of individual members of the interprofessional rehabilitation team in the process of prevocational rehabilitation. As part of the prevocational examination, selected functional standardized methods and tests (basic, recommended and special) are applied, which are gradually presented in individual parts of the book.
The aim of the prevocational examination is to objectively evaluate the psychosensomotor potential of people with disabilities for employment purposes. The output of the prevocational examination is the final report of the prevocational examination, which contains a positive recommendation and limitations on the work abilities of a particular person.
The possibility of clients with disabilities returning to work has a major impact on their self-sufficiency and quality oflife. Prevocational rehabilitation has undergone great development in the Czech Republic in recent years.
The proof is the functioning nationwide network of 13 prevocational centers, which work closely with the relevant Labor Offices. The book is intended not only for experts in the field of rehabilitation, but also for all those interested in the issue of prevocational rehabilitation and employment of people with disabilities.
