The number of family caregivers of a person with disabilities in the Czech Republic is increasing. Shared care and its attributes are an integral part of the everyday life of caring families.
The specifics of formal and informal long-term care thus form the primary pillar for the correct setting and effective care of people with disabilities or impairments. Knowledge of the competences, cooperation and clear identification of the roles of formal and informal caregivers, orientation in available services, legislation and therapeutic options, training in self-sufficiency and the possibility of participation in one's own life is a key thing for maintaining the highest possible quality of life for family caregivers and a family member with a disability.
