The journey to the aesthetic surgery procedure: Narratives of aesthetic surgery through perspectives of aesthetic surgeons

Abstract
Around the world, an increasing number of people, predominantly women, undergo aesthetic surgery. Despite this popularity, little qualitative literature has examined what happens between aesthetic surgeons and clients/patients during consultations.
The fill this gap, we aimed at the system of this medical specialty from two sides (women and aesthetic surgeons). In this study, we present the view of nine Czech aesthetic surgeons.
The results showed that those specialists play a crucial role in the whole system and can influence the women's experience with the journey leading to the aesthetic surgery procedures.
