Abstract
The study explores the theme of the island and its boundaries in literature. It mixes real and geographical ideas of the island with imaginary ideas that have emerged in the literary tradition of writing about islands.
In this perspective, the boundary of the island appears not only physical but also psychological, imaginary and culturally formative.
