Abstract
The author L. Merglová Pánková managed to harmoniously combine two units that complement each other: the catalog of the ZČM ceramic collection and a comprehensive study of its founder J. Škorpil.
The description of the collection, set in a broad context, corresponds to the current trend in the presentation of art collections and will appeal to the professional and lay public. The study on the life and work of J. Škorpil is a meritorious work that aptly describes this Pilsen museum curator, who throughout his life, mistakenly, in my view, considered himself to be "Oblomov", from both a professional and a personal level.
Thanks to this publication, the West Bohemian Museum in Pilsen now has, as one of the few, a detailed history of its establishment.
