Abstract

Beginning in 1987, treatment strategies for human immunodeficiency virus

(HIV) developed and changed according to the results of clinical trials. Since 1996, combinations have been used antiretroviral drugs capable of blocking several sites of the HIV replication cycle. Timely treatment started in highly adherent individuals, it enables the adjustment of immune functions. Currently, the quality and length life expectancy of people living with HIV is close to that of the general population
