Abstract
In this paper, we will focus on the third redaction of the Old Czech translation of the Bible from the beginning of the 15th century, specifically on the translation of the Book of Psalms. Initiated around 1410, this redaction aimed to offer a unified translation with consistent terminology and translation of Latin expressions.
According to Kyas (1997), the texts of Bibles from the third redaction are remarkably similar, with a notable representative in the form of the Padeřov Bible (1432-1435). However, translations of the entire Bible and the Psalms evolved independently.
This distinction leads us to differentiate between the third translation and the third-redaction revision of this translation of the Psalms. The oldest version of this third translation of the Psalms can be found in the Boskovice Bible (c. 1421-1425).
A central question of this paper is to determine the similarities among the third-redaction sources in the Book of Psalms and to highlight how they differ from the third translation sources of the Psalms.
