Aerobics influence on the Body Composition in ten-year-old girls

Abstract

A lot of modern children have a lack of physical activity which leads to overweight or obesity. The obesity is called the civilian disease of the modern era. Regular physical activity means the higher energy output which effects not only the body weight but also body composition. It is very important to motivate children to do sport activities regularly. The modern Children are not interested in the typical sport activities, for example sport games. That's why we have to offer toThe goal of this study was to find out the influence of an aerobic physical activity

(Aerobics) on the 10years-old girls body composition. There were 24 girls participated (n = 24, average height h = 143,2 +- 9,8 cm, average weight m = 38,1 +- 11,9 kg, aged 10 +- 0,5 year) who have the Aerobics never done before. The girls participated only in the school physical education - twice a week for 45 minutes. The influence of 4 months long intervention on body composition was studied - mainly the weight, body water content, the amount of active body mass, the body fat percentage and the BMI. Only the mininal loss of body fat was found out, only 0,2 % in average. The muscle mass increased by 0,8 kg in average result. For the best results we recommend the support of the physical programme with the right diet intervention. them some new types of physical activities which would reflect their interests (Gajdošík a kol., 2012). Aerobics could be a type of this activity.
