Abstrakt
The publication presents the history of water mills and milling in the Gemer-Malohont region (a historical region in Slovakia). The publication conveys the typology of mills, changes in grinding technology, but also the drive of mills.
It also reflects the issue of the status of millers in the communities in which they worked and changes in their status. The book has a broad time frame, from the first written accounts of the mills in the Gemer-Malohont region to the mid-1950s, when traditional milling was disappearing.
