Abstract
This article presents an up-to-date perspective on the treatment of pain of non-cancer origin with strong opioids. This is a current topic as treatment with strong opioids has been re-evaluated in recent years and new clinical recommendations for safe prescription of opioids are being issued.
The recent form of transdermal treatment for chronic pain with a seven-day release of the opioid buprenorphine is presented.
