The study refers to the professional collective monograph Růže je rosa è rose est růže. Translation, translation of interpretation. (A.
Flemrová and Z. Šuman eds. UK FF 2020), which thematically focused on theoretical issues and real problems of translation, reception and interpretation of literary works mainly from Romance languages from antiquity to contemporary works.
Within the three sections of the monograph, the studies are arranged chronologically, from the oldest treated authors to the contemporary ones, in order to highlight the mutual relationships between aesthetics, cultures and themes. The literary monograph also pays tribute to Jiří Pelán and his versatile Romance work.
The review captures the importance of the whole work and its individual contributions/chapters.
