A good start matters. The very first note should express something.
Positive motivation and kind firmness in communicating with students is the basis for meaningful work. Awareness of the goal, a clear idea, preceding the realization play an important role.
The transition from playing by ear to playing from scores should not be sharp. In teaching, we develop all components of musicality equally: rhythmic feeling, harmonic feeling, tonal feeling, melodic feeling, sense of sound and its timbre.
Understanding the composer's intent and appreciation of the piece is important to the performer. Creativity and uniqueness are integral to performance.
