In the revolution 1848 the role of students is undisputed. They formed their associations and armed guards, which actively support revolutionary interests and often the most radical ones.
The revolution in Prague was not an exception. The students took part in civic associations and national guards but also form their own ones.
In the June Uprising they initiated the fights and were the most persistent part of the uprising. Later in May 1849 the students were supposed to be part of another uprising which was exposed early, and the leaders were imprisoned.
But students were also very important in the connection between revolutionary centre in Prague and the rest of the land. A lot of students have their families outside Prague, and they stayed in contact.
They informed them about the revolutionary events and tried to help them to understand the revolutionary demands. This paper wants to discuss the possibility and important of this connection for the support of revolution in the land.
The research is based on the official documents of Austrian police and the correspondence of few chosen students.
