Abstract
The paper deals with the development of engineless flying in Czechoslovakia between 1945 and 1948. After the end of World War II, all the sororities involved in the prohibited activity were restored.
Motorless flying was covered within the Czech lands by the Czech National Aeroclub, whose branches were located throughout the territory. The resumption of flight activity was largely due to the pre-war tradition and the very massive use of booty aviation technology.
Gradually, new Czechoslovakian glider types began to be produced, replacing gliders of German origin by the mid- 1950s. Land sailing schools where courses were paid for were used to increase aviation qualifications.
The change came after February 1948 when strict political control coupled with the centralization of management functions began to be applied.
