Moses’ Water Stunts: Two observations on the Language Puns in Exodus 2:10 and 15:22–27

Abstract

Two instances of language puns in the book of Exodus: 1) Moses' name of probably an Egyptian origin is programmatically reinterpreted in the story of Ex 2:10. 2) In Ex 15:22-27 the localities of Marrah and Elim (known form an eralier itinerary in Nu 33) are coded to foreshadow the gift of the Torah.
