The conference paper deals with the ways of representation of Josef Jungmann in the German-language press from the Bohemian lands in the years 1847-1878, i.e. from Jungmann's death to the unveiling of his monument in Prague. The meanings connoted with Jungmann and their dynamics are analysed with regard to the value and political orientation of individual periodicals and the changes in Czech-German relations in the historical context.
