Abstract

Advertising is a formidable communication tool. So much so that it has become an object of attention and study.

For advertisers, each and every one of us is a target. We are the subject of very expensive campaigns designed to get us to adopt a desired behaviour.

Is this manipulation? Is it possible to escape? How much freedom do we have in a media-driven consumer society? And how might this benefit the FLE classroom?
