Peritoneal carcinomatosis in gastric cancer

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2023

Abstract

Gastric cancer is a heterogeneous disease with a significantly geographically dependent incidence. The incidence is decreasing, but still represents 4.-5. the most common malignancy and is on the third (sometimes stated fourth) cause of death in oncology patients.

The diagnosis of gastric cancer is usually late (except in countries where a screening program is in place) and this results in unsatisfactory treatment results.
