Beheimatung. reconfiguring the concept of heimat in post-migration Scandinavia

Abstract

The theme of Heimat is increasingly recurringin the fields of sociology and cultural studies. Improsoned in its meaning of homeland, Heimat supports the re-presentation of parameters of identity and belonging as defined by nation-state ideology.

This paper aims to explore issues related to this concept by examining the context of the Nordic welfare state.
