Abstract
The paper examines the work of Emil Hácha in the post of State President during the Nazi occupation of the Czech Lands in 1939-1945. Hácha tried, with little success, to save the Czech nation, but ended up intimidated by Nazi violence in the current of collaboration.
The only real excuse for him can be his serious health condition.
