Abstract
The presentation presents an original typology of pre-industrial political regimes based on an analysis of the work of Shmuel N. Eisenstadt.
It is based mainly on his early work. Emphasis is placed on some innovative elements of Eisenstadt's typology, such as the redefinition of Weber's original notion of patrimonialism.
