Abstract
The paper discusses the need to create a fourth system, called the "common memory of humankind", alongside the material and immaterial cultural and natural heritage. This would register and make accessible to the public places that are sad or even tragic in the history of mankind.
The purpose of this system would be not only to remember these tragedies at the place where they took place, but also to create the preconditions for ensuring that something similar cannot happen again in the future.
