Abstract

The book examines a relation between Ladislav Klíma and Friedrich Nietzsche. Based on polemics with former interpretations it tries to cast doubt upon assertions on Klímas strong dependence on Nietzsche, which received its expresion in label "Czech Nietzsche".

Significant part of the book consists in a polemic with Urs Heftrich, who emphasized this dependence so much, that he made Klíma a completely unoriginal thinker. The main part of the book's argumentation is however led through the most delicate place: through comparison of those texts in which both authors are most similar.

The argumentation is completed by a reflection on meaning of Klíma's philosophy for today: while it does not provide so many impulses as Nietzsche's philosophy, it still offers its own impulses - which cannot be simply derived from Nietzsche.
