In this contribution intended for this year's Karlovy Vary Law Days conference, we would like to follow up on some of our earlier reflections on damages and the determination of their amount in criminal law, which we have already published in the literature in relation to the management of public property and with reference to the new regulation of the so-called expert law. At the same time, we will recall the current case law of the Supreme Court in particular, from which we will draw wherever it is relevant for the interpretation and application of the relevant provisions of the applicable criminal and non-criminal legislation and where the established decision-making practice has already responded to the issues we intend to address. However, we would also like to mention some aspects that have not yet been resolved or disputed and, where appropriate, to stimulate discussion on them.
