HEALTH AND SAFETY OF PRE-SCHOOL AND YOUNGER SCHOOL – AGE CHILDREN FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PARENTS

Publication

Abstract

This paper presents the experiences and approaches of parents (N = 648) of children in preschool and primary education (2-12 years) in the field of injury prevention, safe behaviour and health protection, obtained from a questionnaire survey conducted in 2021 (LAGRIS project, TAČR). The results showed that most children at this age do not experience any serious injuries (59%), but only 1-2 minor injuries (38%).

Parents almost always look at the use of common protective equipment in statutory situations. However, the use of child protection options is lower in the area of cyberspace and social risks.
