Abstract
The chapter is devoted to a new approach to the dispute about the meaning of Czech history. This is based on a reinterpretation of Masaryk's conception of Czech history in terms of Badiou's ontology.
The author formulates the concept of an emancipatory and inclusive conception of the nation, according to which there is a continuity of emancipatory names in national history that acquire a different meaning in each specific historical world.
