In the Czech environment especially, there exists no introduction to Jung, which would interpret him in the context of the thinking of his time and within the broader intellectual tradition. Therefore, one of the aims of this book is to establish context for his ideas, often misunderstood as distinctive, to focus on the description of specific themes, their relationship and genesis.
The book will hopefully contribute to illuminating Jung's original position and thus open up a more structured debate and space for research unencumbered by preconceptions. Given that the relationship and emergence of Jung's ideas is largely philosophical, this philosophical interpretation.
Its initial conception, however, remains historical, and within that it attempts to adhere to the genre of "intellectual history". The latter aims to elucidate ideas in a philosophical, historical and cultural context, avoiding the division between individual thinkers, but rather shows how these personalities conceptualized and integrated these ideas into the world of their thought.
