Abstract
Czech and Slovak diaspora in the world. The article discusses Czech and Slovak emigration and the policies of the Czech and Slovak states towards their diasporas after 1993.
First and foremost, it provides a historical perspective, explaining and contextualizing the transformation of Czech and Slovak emigration and its impact on the formation of national diaspora policy. It also includes a brief explanation of various terms related to emigration and relevant statistics on the number of Czechs living abroad.
At the end of the article, we find a comparison of the current Czech and Slovak diaspora policies.
