The phenomenon of time in selected foreign mathematics textbooks

Abstract

Reflecting on the questions of how time can be conceptualised, how time is conceptualised in different cultures and how this is reflected in selected foreign mathematics textbooks brings new perspectives that will then allow for comparison and evaluation of other available didactic materials. In this context, the role of traditions, the work of methodologists, the critical thinking of teachers and how this is reflected in more narrowly focused publications on mathematics didactics are shown.
