Abstract
On Monday 23 October 2023, on the eve of the anniversary of the death of composer Petr Eben, a benefit concert in honour of Petr Eben took place in the Basilica of St. James in Prague - Old Town.
The Notre Dame Choir under the direction of Leona Stříteská and organist Irena Chřibková performed. Various musical works were performed with an emphasis on the compositions of Peter Eben.
The highlight of the concert was the performance of Eben's Vesperae in festo Nativitatis B. M.
V., which the composer composed for the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat in Spain. The proceeds of the concert were donated to the general reconstruction of the St.
James organ, which is the biggest in the Czech Republic.
