Abstract
The chapter presents the basic features of pastoral care in the Unity of Brethren, the theory of pastoral care of Jan Augusta and the concept of care for the sick and dying by Lukáš Pražský and Jan Amos Komenský. It reflects on the designation of pastoral care as an "art".
