Abstract

Activating teaching methods are effective strategies for improving the education processes in natural sciences. Their popularity was reported to significantly differ between teachers and students.

This contribution presents the results of students' subjective perception of eleven selected activating teaching methods which were evaluated by the students themselves using an attitude questionnaire created from the IMI tool. An Index of Subjective Evaluation of Teaching Methods was introduced for the complex evaluation and comparison.

According to the index, inquiry-based education received the highest score of all methods mentioned while the critical thinking method obtained the lowest score.
