Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2023

Abstract

Prevention can be defined as a set of activities that aim to reduce the number of new diseases or to slow down or stop the development of an existing disease. This is an important aspect of paediatrics.

We distinguish primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary prevention. This article discusses these individual types with a focus on the paediatric population.

It serves as a background material in preparation for the attestation exam in paediatrics.
