Abstract
The paper describes the complex weave of Czech-German-Jewish relations on the example of an "ordinary" family of a Prague railwayman. The family was confronted with all the threats and dead ends of the 20th century (National Socialism, Holocaust, Communism), her members became victims of related persecutions in Nazi penitentiaries and concentration camps, or participated in persecutions to a certain extent during the subsequent communist rule.
