A comparative study on institutional support for organisations active in the field of Czech-German relations

Publication

Abstract

The study analyzes the quality of the network of civil society organizations (CSOs) and the framework conditions (personnel, financial, legislative, political, organizational, etc.) in which these organizations operate in the context of Czech-German relations. Quality means in particular their staffing and financial capacity and the diversity of their programme offerings in the long term.

The extensive analysis of the Czech-German environment in the study is complemented by an illustrative comparison with the network of actors in Germany's relations with three other countries: France, Poland and Denmark. On the basis of this comparison, the study assesses the risks and opportunities for the further development of the CSO and institutional frameworks in which Czech-German relations operate.

This project was initiated and supported by the Czech-German Future Fund, a foundation fund, and carried out by a team of experts coordinated by the Institute of International Studies at the FSV UK between 2022 and 2023.
