Abstract
This popular information book, trying to explain even complex ideas in a simple way, deals with history of medicine from the oldest times up to the recent modern achievements. It covers the development in a variety of fields of medical science and practice, including anatomy, internal medicine, surgery, psychiatry, neurology, public health, microbiology, medical genetics and so on, but also some traditional systems, such as homeopathy, Ayurvedic medicine, Islamic or traditional Chinese medicine.
