Abstract
The translation of Straus's Psychiatry and Philosophy was made in 1974 by Petr Rezek (1948-2022) from the first German edition. For the present second edition we have revised this source text.
In addition to the original German edition, we also took into account the English translation.The work was carried out with the approval of the author of the translation and his approval of the overall approach and partial modifications. However, Petr Rezek was not able to give final approval for all the translation changes.
The footnotes in square brackets were added during the revision of the translation. We have also compiled a subject index.
