Most studies focusing on changes of gene expression in various pathological conditions of the heart commonly evaluate homogenates of its individual parts. However, separate analysis of individual cell types is necessary for correct understanding of its functional and pathological changes.
The aim of our study was to determine differ-ences in expression of selected neuropeptides at genomic level in different types of heart cells in healthy and dia-betic rats and to compare these results with results ob-tained from the analysis of whole tissue homogenates.
