Abstract
The paper brings information on research in the ancient city burried by the mounth of Vesuvius in 79 c.e. and on the new details regarding e. g. the date of the eruption or tne new research in the afterlife of Pompeii regarding the inspiration of Bulwer Lytton's novel The last days of Pompeii.
