God, Who Are People? - Religious Values and a Search for New Method in Theological Anthropology

Publication at Protestant Theological Faculty |
2023

Abstract

The presentation follows from the work of the Centre of Excellence Theological Anthropology in Ecumenical Perspective (UNCE 204052), and in particular from the first collective monograph under the centre, published also in a Russian translation by St. Andrew's Biblical Theological Institute in Moscow under the title Kto est čelovek? Bogoslovskaja antropologija (Who is a Human Being? Theological Anthropology) 2022.

The first part of the presentation focuses on religious values as embedded in how people behave to each other, how they speak with and about each other. The second part of the presentation offers a detail reading of symbolic mediation inspired by the French Roman Catholic theologian Louis-Marie Chauvet.

It focuses on the problem of the negative ideological potential of value-discourse.
