Morphological, Neuromuscular And Strength Asymmetries: Magnitude, Differences And Relationships In Elite Soccer Players

Publication

Abstract

Due to high prevalence of repetitive unilateral movements in soccer, side preference may cause abnormal changes in myodynamic characteristics of the muscle; particularly in the dominant leg/side. This phenomenon can be represented as strength and functional asymmetry (FA).

However, studies that focused on FA including morphological, neuromuscular, strength and power parameters are limited in elite soccer.
