Abstract
The text introduces the circumstances of the introduction of color television in Czechoslovakia. It deals not only with the technical and organizational side of the entire project, but also with the aesthetic demands that this new display form brought with it.
The study was created as part of the Project Theoretical and Historical Analysis of Television Production, thanks to which Czech Television has been consistently engaged in historical research and professional reflection on television since 2017.
