"The ship has reached the shore." The 5th BBNJ Conference and the new agreement on biodiversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction

Abstract

The paper is a report of the 5th session of the so-called BBNJ Conference, convened by the UN General Assembly in 2017 to negotiate a legally binding instrument under UNCLOS for the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction.
