Abstract
The first Sokol in the United States of America was founded in 1866. One of the Sokol units that is still active in the USA today is the Sokol Tabor unit.
It brings together compatriots, but also residents of Chicago without Czech roots. All of them are united by an interest in Czech tradition and a love for sport.
