Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |

Abstract

Cutaneous bacterial infections are one of the most common infectious in routine dermatological practice. Bacterial infections of the skin are divided according to the affected anatomical location or according to the causative pathogens.

We most often encounter infections caused by streptococci, staphylococci and corynebacteria. In this first part, common and rarer manifestations of gram-positive bacteria are discussed, including diseases resulting from the production of bacterial toxins.

Emphasis is placed on the clinical manifestation, diagnosis and antibiotic treatment.
